Tom Gentry Bible Training Center

November 12, 2018 marked a new beginning for Hope for the Future and the fulfillment of our ministry in Malawi. It’s the fruition of a vision, a dream coming true. It’s an answer to countless prayers and a materialization of many efforts. This was the day the Tom Gentry Bible Training Center opened its doors for all those who seek to learn the Word of God!

MISSION STATEMENT

In light of Matthew 28:19-20, the Bible Training Center seeks to provide formal training and discipleship of youth workers, church planters and missionaries.

VISION

Send out graduates of the Bible Training Center that are capable of sharing the Gospel, ministering to those in need and discipling new believers.

OBJECTIVES

Our objectives are three fold as expresses in 2 Tim. 2: 1-3:

    1. Provide and atmosphere in which each student is free to grow strong in the grace which is in Christ Jesus. 2 Tim 2:1.
    2. Impart unto the students those principles which the Bible teaches, in such a way, that they shall be prepared to teach them to others both in theory and by example. 2 Tim. 2:2.
    3. Prepare the students to endure hardship as good soldiers of Jesus Christ that they may go forth as true servants of the living God; that in the day they appear before him they might hear the words “Well done my good and faithful servant.” 2 Tim. 2:3.

PLAN

Currently, we have implemented a one year program which includes 300 hours of study. At the completion of the course, students will receive a Bible Certificate from the partnership of Hope for the Future and Jackson First Baptist Church, Georgia, USA.

Coursework is modular and intensive, and will be taught one week each month. Classes will be held from 8:00 am Monday until 4:00 pm Friday. Saturday will be spent doing practical work for the ministry and Sunday will be spent serving back at their home churches.

Coursework was selected to best equip students for:

Bible comprehension
Spiritual discipline
Conforming to Christ
Serving others

Upon completion of this course, students will have the necessary knowledge to begin a ministry of fruitful service to the LORD. Because a life of service demands a life of preparation, it is our desire to have an ongoing relationship with all former students.

EXPENSES

It is our desire to offer these courses free of charge to all those interested, so the Bible Training Center can be accessible even to those students who do not have the financial means to attend otherwise. Therefore, room and board, transportation and other basic necessities will be provided free of charge. In the spirit of 2 Thessalonians 3:10, students will be expected to perform necessary chores and upkeep in and around the facility.

LEADERSHIP

As a ministry of Hope for the Future Malawi, The Tom Gentry Bible Training Center will be governed by the Board of Trustees of Hope for the Future.

This board will endeavor to meet once a year to ensure the ongoing operation and improvement of the school, curriculum development, financial planning and problem resolution.
